Bengals Win at Home Against Rams

Third string quarterback Brock Berlin made his first starting debut starting for injured quarterback Marc Bulger Sunday afternoon in the wet rainy weather against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Brock Berlin didn’t make any big plays which was the difference for the Cincinnati Bengals.

Brock Berlin completed 17-28 passes for 153 yards and 1 interception. Carson Palmer didn’t play much better, completing 21-29 for 189 yards and throwing 2 interceptions.

The Bengals scored on a 1 yard Rudi Johnson touchdown in the first quarter and Shayne Graham kicked 4 field goals for the Bengals offense that couldn’t finish their drives as they beat the St Louis Rams 19-10 Sunday afternoon at Paul Brown Stadium.

Besides the 1 field goal for the Rams, the Rams only touchdown came on Fakhir Brown’s 36 yard interception return for a touchdown in the third quarter to make St Louis down only 10-7.

The Bengals defense held the Rams to 3-13 on third down conversions while the Bengals were 7-15. Cincinnati had 18 1st downs compared to 10 for St Louis.

Rudi Johnson led the Bengals in rushing with 92 yards on 23 carries and 1 touchdown – the only offensive touchdown of the game. Stephen Jackson rushed for 91 yards on 18 attempts – 3 more yards than the whole team.

The Bengals rushed for a total of 192 yards and 370 yards total for the game, while St Louis only gained a total of 241 yards.

The Bengals improved their record to 5-8 – however the disappoint for the Bengals is that they now have been eliminated from the playoffs – while St Louis fell to 3-10.
